겹겹이 쌓인 나의 표피는 시간의 흐름을 감당해내며 얻은 상흔을 품고 있다. 나의 경험과 시간의 흔적을 담아 겹으로 쌓여지는 표피는 나와 마주하는 모든 이들에게 있는 그대로 비춰진다. 이러한 겹의 표현은 기존에 물감으로 대상을 표현하는 방식과는 달리 물감에 나의 정신의 겹과 육체의 겹을 하나로 표현, 새롭게 태어난다. 이 물감이라는 이름에서 벗어난 겹을 다른 공간으로 가져와, 나와 함께 흘러가고 있는 시간 위에 다시 재조합되어 또 다른 나로 표현된다. 사람들은 같은 시간, 다른 경험을 한다. 말하려는 것, 듣고 있는 것, 보려는 것, 보여 지는 것, 만지려는 것, 만져지는 것... 이 모든 외적 자극과 시간의 흐름을 각자의 겹으로 쌓아가며 우리들 내면의 그 무엇인가를 보호하며 유지한다. 시간의 겹, 생각의 겹, 일상의 겹 등을 작품 속에 켜켜이 쌓아 시간의 흔적을 담아 두려 한다. ■ 이원태

The bark like surface that I have expressed with multiple layers, contains the scars of the passing time. The layers of surface traces my experience and past time, and shown to everyone as it is. Instead of using paint to express a certain object, I use the layers of paint as a medium to express my thoughts and soul in a new way. The layers of paint, not the paint as used before, contains the time that has past and forms a new platform and space that expresses myself for others to see. To think, to hear, to see, to be seen, to feel, to be felt.. all of these external inspirations and the passing of time compiles as a level of layers in our thoughts, and becomes the fundamental of protecting and maintaining the soul. With the layers of time, thought, and everyday life, I try to trace the past of time, and express myself through my work. ■ LEEWONTAE
