『On Boarding』, a group exhibition as part of Han Sung Motor's Dream Gream Emerging Artists Incubation Program, announces the artistic journeys of Dream Gream mentors: Kim Hanna, Park Geunjung, Oh Hyejun, Woo Minju, Yoon Jiwoo, Jung Hyunsoo, Chae Dan, Choi Hyeongjun, and Hong Jongchan. ● Last March, curators, art critics, and artists, gathered to evaluate the portfolios of the mentors who applied to participate in the 『On Boarding』 group exhibition. After two rounds of screenings and interviews nine emerging artists were selected and matched with artists Gwon Osang, Lee Wan, and Choi Soojung, taking into account their personalities, artistic directions, and characteristics of their works. ● The three groups, each consisting of one invited artist and three emerging artists, held several seminars and workshops over the past four months to have serious and in-depth discussions about their works. They also went through the critique process for the group exhibition with the curator and experienced the whole process of making an exhibition to gain hands-on experience of how artists, organizers, and art galleries systematically interact. ● The group exhibition 『On Boarding』 showcases the latest works that reflect the considerations and artistic visions of the emerging artists who have spent the preceding months as intense and fierce as the scorching summer days. The exhibition unfolds through three keywords: 「Medium」, 「Narrative」, and 「Selfhood」, each of which serves as a milestone for interpreting the artists' works. ● 'On Boarding,' which means 'to get on board,' refers to a program that helps new employees acclimate to an organization. Watching someone grow is a valuable and hopeful process in itself. It is even more rewarding and gratifying when the growth is remarkable. We hope that this exhibition, organized to fully reflect the meaning of the term 'on boarding,' will serve as an opportunity to support the future of the emerging artists. ■ SUNGKOK ART MUSEUM
